Rabbi Oded Mazor became Kol HNeshama's rabbi in 2019.
During his rabbinical studies at Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem, he served as the community's education coordinator and rabbinic assistant to Rabbi Levi Weiman-Kelman.
Rabbi Oded grew up in liberal communities: Darchei Noam Reform community in Ramat Hasharon where his father, Rabbi Yehoram Mazor, served as the rabbi, and the Masorti "Hod Vehadar" community in Kfar Saba where the family were members. He was active in the NOAM and Noar-TELEM youth movements and did his army service with Garin Nahal at Kibbutz Ketura, a pluralistic kibbutz in the southern Arava.
After his ordination, Oded and his wife Ya'ala moved to Kibbutz Hanaton, where he took part in community life in a variety of areas, including ritual and educational leadership. Rabbi Oded also worked with neighboring communities. From 2010 - 2018, he worked at the Leo Baeck Education Center in Haifa as the rabbi of the elementary school, taught Judaism to all age groups, and later coordinated the Center's relations with Reform and liberal Jewish communities in the UK. In addition, Rabbi Oded taught in several pre-military-service preparatory programs (mechinot) in the North.
Rabbi Oded co-edited the "HaSimcha SheBalev" three Festivals (Regalim) prayerbook, a joint production of Kol HaNeshama and MARAM, the progressive (Reform) rabbinical council in Israel. Rabbi Oded was a member of the editorial committee of the new Israeli Reform prayerbook of the Reform movement Tfilat Ha-Adam, which includes several of his original prayers and poems.
Rabbi Oded was a fellow in the Mandel program for leadership in Jewish culture and is currently a Honey Foundation fellow. He also teaches at the Israeli rabbinical program at Hebrew Union College, Jerusalem.
Oded, Ya'ala and their three children live in Jerusalem.
