HaShira SheBalev - The "song of the heart" the singing group of Kol HaNeshama
Kehilat Kol Haneshama's Singing Group ( Hashira She'BaLev - The Song Whithin the Heart) was founded in 2013 and meets regularly since then.
Originally, the group's goal was to enrich T'filah (prayer) and assist the founder Rabbi Levi Weiman Kelman with incorporating new melodies into the services.
Since then, the group meets twice a month, to sing, learn and practice vocal methods. The participation is open for members of the kehila of all ages, who love to sing.
In the meetings, the group studies the musical prayer traditions of Reform, traditional as well as Western and Eastern streams. We love to sing Piyut, and to incorporate it in the T'filah on meaningful occasions, as well as the music of Classical Reform composers or contemporary Israeli and American tunes.
Once every few weeks, we join the services to accompany the prayers with our voices and harmonies and teach the congregants new songs that we have learned.
Everybody is welcome to JOIN!
